Company Introduction

May 2023 saw the birth of Guizhou Guichun New Energy Group Co., Ltd.—a Sino-French joint-venture built on methanol as the bridge to the hydrogen age.

Across Europe, North America and Brazil, high-level ethanol-gasoline blends (E85) are already mainstream. Supported by strong farming sectors and mature bio-fuel chains, E85 curbs oil dependence while delivering both economic and environmental gains.

Yet when the same energy-security, cost and CO₂-reduction targets were translated to China, a simple copy-and-paste of E85 was impossible. For a populous country where food security is paramount, turning large volumes of grain into fuel is unsustainable.

Guichun therefore chose a China-aligned path: methanol as the primary fuel, married to on-board hydrogen generation, upgrading existing internal-combustion engines rather than replacing them. Its core product—an on-line methanol-to-hydrogen (M→H) system—supplies efficient, low-carbon and affordable power to heavy-duty trucks, marine engines, mining rigs, port logistics, urban buses, farm machinery, construction equipment, remote-area micro-grids, military and emergency power units. A multi-fuel smart ECU continuously optimises the methanol/hydrogen mix for every load point, ensuring clean and complete combustion.

In operation, methanol remains the dominant fuel; a small, real-time stream of hydrogen is produced on demand and acts as a high-reactivity combustion promoter. The result is higher thermal efficiency, lower fuel consumption and markedly reduced emissions, all while keeping today’s engine architecture intact—an inexpensive route to decarbonisation. We regard methanol as a liquid hydrogen carrier that can smoothly shepherd the energy system toward a hydrogen-rich future.

Guichun focuses on advancing M→H technology across the full spectrum: from hydrogen-assisted combustion to hydrogen-dominant operation, from hydrogen-IC engines to fuel-cell systems, for vehicles, vessels and off-road equipment. Our mission is to open a strategic corridor for China’s energy transition and to accelerate a low-carbon, sustainable energy landscape.

December 2025 – Guichun signed a strategic pact with Guizhou Est Nanotech Co., Ltd. to set up a dedicated R&D team for next-generation M→H reactors integrating rare-earth thin-film heating technology.

January 2026 – Guichun and Xifu Hydrogen Tech (Guangdong) Co., Ltd. joined forces; Xifu will produce Guichun-branded lubricants formulated with oil-soluble graphene. This graphene-enhanced oil gives our alcohol-hydrogen engines the toughest possible protection.
